Remedial soft tissue therapy for tennis players
I am an advanced sports remedial therapist in Paddington, Brisbane, and I work with tennis players on the repetitive-load injuries the game creates: the elbow, shoulder, lower back, calf and wrist. Hands-on treatment that finds the mechanism, not just the sore spot.
Why tennis players pick up injuries
Repetitive rotation, overhead serving and sudden stops and sprints all add up. Most tennis injuries are overuse, building over weeks rather than arriving in one moment.
The sore spot is often not the cause. Elbow pain can start at the shoulder, back pain at the hip. I find that chain and treat it.
What I work on
- Tennis elbow, outer elbow pain
- Shoulder pain from serving and overheads
- Lower back pain from the serve and rotation
- Calf strain from stop-start movement
- Wrist pain from grip and spin

How the treatment works
Assessment
I take your history, watch how you move, and use orthopaedic testing to rule things in or out. Black and white: positive or negative.
Treatment
Hands-on soft tissue work, with real time on the table. I treat the whole area involved, not just the point of pain.
Education
You leave understanding your own body. A few sessions in, you can tell me what is happening and why. That is what keeps it from coming back.
Common questions
Do I have to stop playing?
Not always. Often we manage load rather than stop completely. I will give you a straight answer once I have assessed it.
Is this the same as seeing a physio?
No, and it is not meant to replace one. My focus is deep, hands-on soft tissue treatment with real time on the table. If you need a physio, imaging, or a doctor, I will point you there.
Is this a sports massage?
No. A sports massage is a general, relaxation-style rub down. This is clinical treatment for a specific problem. This is not relax. This is treatment.
